Here at Installation Services, we feel strongly that running
your own business is about much more than simply making a profit.
Involvement in the community is also a big part of who we are. While we
support several initiatives, some of our favorites are listed here. If you
have time, please follow the links to their sites and check them out. Who
knows, perhaps you could pitch in and lend a hand as well!
Homes for
Our Troops
Homes for Our Troops is a non-profit, non-partisan, 501 (c)(3) organization
founded in 2004. This organization is strongly committed to helping those
who have selflessly given to their country and have returned home with
serious disabilities and injuries. They assist severely injured Servicemen
and Women and their immediate families by raising donations of money,
building materials and professional labor and then coordinating the process
of building a new home or adapting an existing home for handicapped
accessibility. The finished home is then given to the veteran.
Habitat for
Humanity
Habitat for Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty housing and to make decent
shelter a matter of conscience and action. They invite people from all walks
of life and faiths to work together in partnership to build and repair
houses with families in need through four, primary, service programs: New
Construction, Home Rehabs, Home Repairs and the Habitat ReStore.
KIVA
Kiva's mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of
alleviating poverty. Kiva is the world's first person-to-person
micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique
entrepreneurs around the globe.
Best Friends
Best Friends Animal Society is guided by a simple philosophy: kindness to
animals builds a better world for all of us.
Honorable mention
While not a charitable organization, we have found that in the current
economic environment, another group is in dire need of assistance...our
communities pets! We are constantly finding abandoned pets in the homes we
are tasked to repair. Many of them, abandoned by their families because of
financial hardship, are being left to fend for themselves. While we notify
the Humane Society for most, these five below have become members of the
Installation Services team:

Chuck - Information Technology (actually he just sits on the rack
because our servers are warm)

Cricket - Senior Management (well, sort of. He likes to sit on the
back of my chair while I work)

Stuart - Office Manager (not a very good one...he finds most
important document on desk and sits on it)

Mark - Mascot (can't do much else due to weight challenge...23lbs!!)

Abby - Security (both her bark and bite don't amount too much...but
she does her best!)
